The Fire TV Stick 4K Select is Amazon's entry-level 4K streaming stick. You plug it into a TV HDMI port and run services such as Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube. It runs on Amazon's new Vega OS, not the older Fire OS.
Per Amazon's announcement:
1. 4K Ultra HD with HDR10+; the TV needs an HDMI input with HDCP 2.2.
2. A 1.7GHz quad-core processor.
3. An Alexa Voice Remote is included, with app shortcut buttons, volume and TV power buttons.
4. Alexa for search and playback, and for controlling smart devices such as ACs, geysers, fans and lights.
5. The Appstore has apps such as Prime Video, Netflix, JioHotstar, YouTube and Zee5 (service fees apply separately).
6. Ambient Experience: art and photography shown on the TV.
Per Digit's review (December 2025):
1. 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and Wi-Fi 5.
2. Menus run smoothly, but there were occasional stutters and one freeze.
3. 4K HDR looked good on Netflix and Prime Video; Dolby Atmos passthrough is supported, Dolby Vision is not.
4. Drawbacks: a small app library for now, restricted sideloading, no remote backlight and an older micro-USB power port.
Things to check:
1. It runs on Vega OS, so some apps such as Jellyfin, IPTV or game-streaming apps will not work. Check your must-have apps on the Amazon page.
2. Some apps such as Plex run from the cloud and may have fewer features.
3. The launch price was Rs 5,499; Digit's review states Rs 3,999. Check the current price on the Amazon page.
4. The warranty was not in Amazon's announcement; check the Amazon page.
